-Can I also get a regular tattoo from you without a ceremony?
No, unfortunately, you cannot get a normal tattoo from me without a ceremony.
While I have done this in the past, I find that it is not my preference. I attach great value to the ceremony aspect and the deep spiritual meaning behind your tattoo.
-Does a handpoke tattoo hurt more or less than a machine tattoo?
There are a lot of people who claim that a handpoke tattoo hurts less than a machine tattoo.
I don't think that is entirely correct. A handpoke tattoo is of course still painful: the skin is damaged by the pricking of the needle. In doing so, you are essentially creating an open wound.
It can be said, however, that hand poking is slightly gentler on the skin because the process is slower and the ink is placed into the skin manually, dot by dot. Consequently, you often won't feel one prick, but you will feel another.
With a tattoo machine, those punctures are much faster, and therefore make the skin raw and sensitive more quickly.
Also keep in mind that there are always areas on your body that will hurt more than others.
-How long does a handpoke tattoo take to heal?
When a new tattoo heals, you should generally always allow for a healing process of approximately 2 to 4 weeks.
A handpoke tattoo, however, is often fully healed after just 2 or 3 weeks.
This is because the skin is 'damaged' less severely than with a machine tattoo, and therefore experiences less trauma.
Handpoke tattoos often heal with fewer scabs as well.
Keep in mind that everyone is different and has different skin. For one person, a handpoke tattoo might heal in just two weeks, while for another, it takes a bit longer.
It is, of course, important that you take good care of your tattoo during (and after!) the healing process so that it recovers safely and beautifully.
-Can I swim, sunbathe, or go to the sauna with a new tattoo?
No, you may not swim, sunbathe, or go to the sauna with a new, fresh tattoo. You could run the risk of infection.
Wait until your tattoo is fully healed before you want to do these activities.
Important: continue to take good care of your tattoo even after the healing process, and apply SPF when going out in the sun.
-How old do I have to be to get a tattoo?
You must be 18 years or older to get a tattoo from me.
-If I book an appointment for a tattoo, will I receive information and instructions?
Yes, absolutely! On the day you arrive for a tattoo appointment, you always receive a number of forms from me.
A risk form, a consent form, and an aftercare form.
That way, we both know that everything runs smoothly, safely, and without any worries!
-I don't want a tattoo; do you also offer services where no tattoo is applied?
Yes, I also offer services where no tattoo is applied!
