Who am I?

Hi! I’m Amber from Amfea Tattoo! I’m 26 years old and live with my lovely partner and our two ginger "fur babies." I’m a huge geek and love LARP, archery, gaming, tabletop RPGs, fantasy festivals, mythology, spirituality, mysticism, history, and—of course—drawing.

 

I’ve loved tattoos since I was a child; I used to secretly stare at people’s beautiful designs. I thought they were so special and cool. Even back then, I saw the human body as a blank canvas, ready to be decorated.
As I got older, I started getting tattoos myself, and I still haven't stopped collecting them. Each of my own tattoos tells its own story. For years, I searched for my true passion until I suddenly remembered how much I loved tattoos and wondered if I should do something with that. Honestly, my own insecurity held me back from even trying at first, but sometimes you just have to take the leap and think, "I can do this!"

So, I just started! Of course, I had a lot of help from experienced tattoo artists and support from loved ones, and there was plenty of trial and error along the way. I chose the hand-poke method right from the start, rather than using a machine. Hand-poking has been used by so many different cultures throughout the centuries, and I wanted to stay as close as possible to this beautiful, ancient method.

Why ceremonial tattooing?

After a while, I noticed that I didn't get much fulfillment out of tattooing "just a picture." (With the utmost respect for traditional tattoo artists!) I felt a desire to engage more deeply with my spirituality, so I began exploring how I could combine that with tattooing in my own unique way. I have also been hugely inspired by other amazing ceremonial tattoo artists along the way. I look forward to embarking on this beautiful adventure with you, and I hope to provide a wonderful experience for so many lovely people!
